The Purrfect Additions ShopKind Chrome extension just got a real upgrade.
The Purrfect Additions ShopKind Chrome Extension, made to support a local nonprofit, just got a major upgrade. It's now called 'Purrfect Additions Kitty Feed', and you can browse adoptable cats, see a daily featured kitty, and support a local nonprofit every time you shop, free to install and at no cost to shoppers.
When we first launched the Purrfect Additions Chrome extension, the idea was simple: install it once, shop normally, and let the affiliate system quietly route a little support to a local cat rescue without asking anything extra from you. Set it and forget it.
That is still true. But "set it and forget it" turned out to be a little too forgettable.
So we rebuilt it into something worth opening on purpose.
What the Kitty Feed is
Purrfect Additions Kitty Feed is a free Chrome extension built for supporters of Purrfect Additions, Inc., a Dayton-area nonprofit that specializes in the cats most rescues pass over: the too-young, too-old, too-sick, and too-complicated.
The extension is powered by ShopKind, a platform built by IrrationalJT that routes affiliate commissions from everyday online shopping toward nonprofit partners. The shopper pays nothing extra. The rescue earns a little something every time.
The affiliate feature is still there, still running quietly in the background. But the extension is no longer just a background process. It is now a lightweight supporter companion you might actually want to open.
Daily featured cat
Every day, the popup highlights a cat currently in Purrfect Additions' care. It is a small thing, but it is the kind of small thing that reminds you why you installed it in the first place.
Meet the cats
Browse adoptable cats directly from the popup. Open a profile, click through to the adoption page, no extra tabs and no hunting around.
Quick-access support buttons
Donate or hit the Amazon wish list in one click. The friction is gone. The impulse to help does not have to wait for the right moment.
Welcome and settings experience
First launch now walks you through what the extension does and lets you adjust which sections appear in the popup. It is a small UX detail, but it makes the extension feel intentional rather than thrown together.
Updated visual design
Fresh branding, cleaner layout, and a more polished popup overall. It looks the part now.
Why the upgrade matters
The original version worked. It just worked quietly. The problem with quiet is that people forget to tell their friends about it, and extensions that do not give you a reason to think about them tend to get cleared out during the next browser cleanup.
Version 2 is designed to be worth keeping. If you are already a Purrfect Additions supporter, this is the version worth actually using. If you are new to it, this is the version worth telling someone else about.
Three things you can do right now
Install it.Purrfect Additions Kitty Feed is free, takes about 30 seconds, and requires zero change to how you shop online.
Share it. If you know someone in the Dayton area, someone who loves cats, or someone whose Amazon habit could use a little more purpose, send them the link. This is the kind of thing that grows by word of mouth, or it does not grow at all.

A note to other nonprofits
ShopKind is a platform, not a one-off project. If your organization could benefit from a branded supporter tool like this, one that connects your community, surfaces your programs or animals, and generates passive affiliate support, we would love to talk. Reach out at shopkind@irrationaljt.com.
